Arohi smiled locking her phone and slipping it in pocket.
"No points for guessing...Arjun!?" Shefali exclaimed folding her arms.
Arohi nodded with a smile as she picked a jar of Nutella and kept in her trolly.
"So for how long you plan to keep this sham of happiness?" Shefali asked directly..
Arohi paused for a sec and then continued searching for honey "Arjun and I are really happy with each other, Shefu"
Rolling her eyes Shefali held her arm making her look at her.
"Stop lying Arohi."
"I am not" came Arohi's quick reply..."and why would I lie? You tell me honestly, do you think Arjun and I are not happy?"
Shefali meekly shook her head in denial.
"Do you think we don't love each other now?"
Shefali again shook her head in no.
"So? We love each other and we are happy...there is no sham and no lies" Arohi grinned turning back to products.
"But Arohi yaar. Its been more than 4 years..you guys.." Shefali started with a sigh but Arohi cut her in between.
"Arjun was clear about everything from start Shefu. I knew what I was getting into and I have no complaints and no regrets." Holding Shefali's shoulders she stressed "I AM HAPPY" she chuckled making Shefali smile a little.
"I am just worried about you"
Arohi smiled at her sweet friend...how lucky she was to have someone so caring in her life.
They took whatever they wanted and then proceeded for billing.
"Are you coming to Mrs. Mehta's party in evening ?" Arohi asked as they waited for their turn.
"Uhmmm...Arohi I don't really think you hould go there. I don't like her." Shefali said nervously.
Arohi looked at her confused " We live in same building Shefali. It will be so rude of me to not go, and Mr Mehta is Arjun's business acquaintance."
"Still Aru.."
"Shefu, you come na. I will have company otherwise I will get bored among all those auntie" She joked making a bored face.
"Okay" Shefali agreed faking a smile. Maybe she is being overprotective about Arohi but she really wants to protect her from any hurt. She wasn't getting any good vibes about this party. Silently she prayed for her intuitions to be wrong.
"Hey Arohi" listening venomously sweet voice Arohi turned to meet the unwanted person.
Plasting a fake smile she greeted Natasha "Hi"
She was really not looking forward to meet this chudail in party!
"Been so long! How's Arjun?"
Arohi managed to hard to keep that smile "he is absolutely fine..."
"Oh sweety. I feel for you. These men they don't understand anything but I know how difficult it is for you. If I have been at your place I would have left him long back. I mean how can one be with a man who is not ready for commitment."
Natasha said pitifully making Arohi fist her hand so that she doesn't end up slapping her.
She maintained her calm and replied to Natasha in equally sweet voice "You and I both know, Natasha that many girls will do any decent-indecent thing just to be at my place."
And in a menacing tone she added "Mine and Arjun's relation is not some public topic for you to discuss. We will do what we have to when time comes!"
She took the wine glass from passing waiter "Nice meeting you. Hopeyouo enjoy party" saying this she left from there leaving a fuming Natasha.
"Kya keh rhi thi vo chudail?" Shefali asked coming to Arohi.
Arohi gulped her drink "nothing relevant"
"Whatever it was I know you gave her fitting reply just look at her face" Shefali chuckled.
Arohi gave a sly smile in return.
"I need to use washroom" she excused herself and left from there keeping glass on table.
Few minutes back Arohi came back to see Shefali waiting for her..
"What took you so long?" Shefali questioned.
"I got an important call from office. I need to mail some photographs urgently so I am leaving!" Arohi replied.
Shefali looked at her suspiciously " are you OK?"
"No. Absolutely not. I am yet to edit few of them" she said panicking
Shefali laughed "calm down babes."
"I am leaving. Just inform Mrs Mehta" giving a quick hug to her she left from there.
Turning the knob of door Arjun entered in their apartment as silently as he could.
He had just kept his bag and coat on couch when bedroom's door opened and a not so sleepy Arohi came out.
"I told you to not wait." Arjun whined complaining.
Arohi shrugged "I was completing my work".
She walked closer to him as he opened his arms for her.
Kissing on her forehead he looked at her "how was the party?"
