A/N: Hey everyone! Thanks for being so patient with me, while I was making this new Wattysode! For those who still don't know a Wattysode is what I call an episode ( one of these ) which I write here - on Wattpad. Anyways, without any further ado ..... Here's the newest one - this is after "The Magician" - the Christmas one was a special which isn't related to the rest in any particular way. Thanks so much, I hope you 'll love it! ~ Juni
It was time to prepare for the pre-spring dance. Marinette didn't feel like getting out of her bed that day. She was sketching, while lying on her neatly smoothed out bed covers and tried to distract herself from what was waiting for her.
She felt like everywhere she turned she saw little faces of Chloe yelling at her how her dress is going to top hers.
That was one of the reasons why she felt miserable and even considered not going to the dance. The other reason was that she got asked by Adrien to be his partner for it, in the middle of a theater play they performed for the school on a competition which they ended up second in.
"Come on, Marinette you're going to be late!"
Her mother could be heard yelling from the bottom of the staircase leading up to her room.
"Yeah, you don't want to keep your prince Charming waiting now do you?"
Her father joined in. When she heard what he said, she nearly slipped trying to get into her dress. She's been working way too hard on it and her only true wish that night, besides spending half the time with Adrien and the rest of the bunch was for the dress to not suffer the envy of Chloe.
"Let's go Marinette.....Oh, what's wrong?"
Tikki was peeking from the clutch and when she saw the way Marinette looked at herself into the mirror she floated out.
"What if I don't look good enough? What if everyone laughs at me? What if..."
Tikki flapped in front of her mouth.
"You look amazing, and I'm sure the others will think so as well. Don't let one bad opinion destroy the night you worked so hard for Marinette."
She took Tikki and snuggled her. Just then a knock on the door was heard.
"Marinette get down here, I hear the doorbell, it's your job to answer it tonight."
Her mom knew who was at the door, so that's why she told Marinette to open it.
She slowly opened her room's door and carefully made her way down the stairs.
"Aw, doesn't she look pretty?"
Her mother elbowed her dad to which he just smiled and scratched his head.
"You look beautiful Marinette, go on open the door already!"
He shoved her towards the bakery front's door and she opened it. It was Adrien standing there, in a suit.
"A-a-a-"
She couldn't say his name properly and she blushed so hard that she wished she could shove her head in the ground like an ostrich does.
"Ma- oh."
He was stunned. He stared at her in a dress for two minutes straight until a nudge from in his suit's inner pocket snapped him out of it.
"Ouc-right, so uhm...Shall we?"
She slowly took his hand and they were both off, on foot to the school.
As they slowly approached the front entrance of their school, Adrien stopped at the staircase and helped Marinette climb them carefully, so she wouldn't damage her outfit.
"I didn't tell you before but...you look really pretty....I mean you always.....but now in a......."
He got lost mid-way and so did his point of the mini speech he provided which had sense at the beginning but at the end not so much.
"Th-thanks."
She managed to mutter, as she climbed the final step. Just as they were making their way in, a familiar voice stopped them.
"There you are gi-oh my God."
Alya, and Nino were right behind her.
"Hey, Alya....and uhm...hi...Nino."
Marinette put a strain of her hair behind her ear, and blushed again.
"You look so pretty girl....No dress will match this perfection tonig-"
Alya wasn't even finished, when she got pushed out of the way by Chloe.
"Really, this is your dress Marinette? I honestly thought you had that designer skill nailed ages ago. Guess not....But Adrikins on the other hand....that suit was made to match my dress, don't you think?"
Adrien was annoyed to no end. He just rolled his eyes, and took Chloe's hands off of him.
"Nice to see you too Chloe. Let's all go in now, shall we?"
They all entered the facility and went towards the gym where the dance was taking place. It was so well decorated that it was barely recognizable, there were two sets of tables with different food and drinks and there was space for dancing and music was playing and there was a small stage, apparently for the end ceremony where they announce who wore it best, and give them crowns as king and queen of the dance.
When they entered, they saw an info poster which also mentioned a best dancers prize, for those whose feet bring the best groove on the dance floor that night.
The four friends were at one end, and Chloe and Sabrina were enviously gossiping on the other end.
"She thinks she has the best dress...Just you wait Marinette...just you wait..."
Meanwhile, Nino was sharing a newly found joke he read the night before the dance.
"It's really funny....Isn't it?"
He asked the others who just awkwardly looked at each other, not really knowing how to react.
"I guess.....Hey why don't we try these?"
Alya took a cup and poured herself some from the drink left on the table. As she took a sip, Adrien asked something that almost made her choke with it.
"Hey, who do you think headmaster Damocles is coming with?"
She coughed, and Marinette tapped her back to make sure she wouldn't choke.
"Are you alright there?"
Adrien asked, seeing something was wrong with Alya.
"What a scoop that would be....you're a genius Adrien!"
She pecked his cheek and grabbed her phone.
"What did I do?"
He stood there clueless, with a mild smile on his face. Just then the music slowed down and Adrien took Marinette's hand.
"Wha-?"
She was confused for a second, but then she tightened her grip.
"Well, it's a party isn't it?"
