The room grew silent, time slowly went by as the air became heavy. Unsure of what to say Alexandria twiddled her thumbs, keeping her trained eyes on the floor, her thoughts swirled aimlessly. Out of her peripheral she noticed Helena sit up, wondering if she'd calmed down enough to listen, though she had a feeling the teen wouldn't care to. Slowly reaching her hand out to place over her daughters, opening her mouth to speak "... Helena, please.. Hear me ou-" The teen took her hand back and stood up. "No! You don't get to tell me to listen after that! All those years were for nothing! Just a waste, did you bother to really think about it? What would have happened if you'd just sent me off to be with him instead?!" The magenta haired woman growled. Leaning back against the couch, Rocco pinched the bridge of his nose. "So much for this bein' discussed like civil adults.. For fucks sake.. Helena, we be indoors can ya not bark up a storm? Give yer mother some respect, she be tryin' her best."
Her hands tightened into fists as she scoffed, looking at the warlock. "Right, because after all of this I have no right to be angry? You should be on my side here! Not hers, she messed it all up by keeping this a huge ass secret. If she wanted us to know that badly, then she would have told us! Suddenly this just comes out of the blue? I don't think so, this wasn't fair! It's like she wanted this to happen, two decades of nothing but shit and now this? Why give respect to her when she doesn't even respect herself? She's asked for all for all of it, tell me I'm wro-" unable to finish her sentence with an open hand coming in contact with her cheek, a loud slap echoed off the walls. The young witch's eyes wide with shock, her hand coming up to cover the now stinging bit of skin. Making eye contact after starring at the hand that slapped her, the shock still present in her eyes, after all she'd never been hit like this before.
Making contact with livid emerald hues, Helena was speechless unsure of how to process the sudden reaction. "You will never speak like that again do you understand me? How dare you, that was beyond unacceptable! I there are no words for how disrespectful that was, I gave up so much of my life to give you something better. I understand what I did was wrong keeping this from both of you, but that gives you absolutely no reason to be impudent with your own mother. Do you understand me? If you ever show me no respect again, I promise you that a slap will be the last thing you would get." The elder woman replied irate as she was, her hands curling into fists. This was a rare side of her no of them had seen, even Rocco wasn't quite sure what to do at this moment.
"I had many opportunities to tell you the truth, you are right there, I could have told him as well.. I should have, but the thing you fail to see is what that would have done to all of us if I had. Perhaps sending you to your father after the incident, just with a letter to explain why such a young girl would be on his door step. But I was afraid of Nicholas finding you, I know he was keeping track of you.. I chose for you to have an education instead, if this ever came up in the future I would deal with the consequences then. With those chokers you know what they are capable of, it was the only way I could protect you Helena. Do you not see that?! Besides that if word had gotten around about this whole situation, we all would be suffering from it." She added keeping eyes on her daughter, watching the teens expression carefully.
Helena frowned keeping her hand on her cheek, covering the outline of the other woman's hand. "Not as if that would have mattered, shit lord had no chance against Rocco anyway. He could have saved us from that fuckass and gotten those damn things removed! And out of all the times you stand up for yourself its against your own daughter? How unfair is that? Where was this when he was hurting us? All those things you told me to never speak about, where was this side of you then mother?" She growled taking a step forward holding her ground.
"You watch your mouth, I have had enough your language! Do you understand that had you have left the country and he just happened to realize where you where, that if he had not taken the chance to hurt you, he would have killed me? Could you live with that? Because the daughter I knew could not, you would have done something rash and gotten yourself into more trouble, if not killed. I did what I thought was right, I realized not long after that I had made a terrible mistake, sending you off like I did. From the start I should have had the confidence to stand up to Nicholas, I understand that." She paused turning her head to look at the warlock, who'd kept himself quiet through their argument. "And I should have told you about Helena, the moment I knew I was pregnant. I can not be sorry enough for letting this much time come between you both and myself.. I can not take back what I did, nor do I expect to be forgiven by either of you. All I can do is try and earn that trust back and give you both space to deal with all of this."
Alexandria took in a breath before looking at her daughter again, doing her best to calm down. "I expected you to be mad at me, but never did I think you would go so far to disrespect me like you have. I am disappointed in you, I never in a thousand years would have imagined those words leaving your mouth." The purple haired woman added. "I will not apologize for slapping you, as that was earned on your end. No matter how angry you get at me or anyone in this household, you will never speak to them in that way. You are still a child and I will treat you like one if that is what it takes, I assumed you to be on a higher level of maturity then this. For that I will be grounding you to our property until farther notice, do I make myself clear?"
The teens hands curled into tighter fists, clenching her jaw as she put her head down. Tears had formed through her anger, words couldn't be trusted at this point. Her whole world had been torn apart, now she wasn't even allowed to get away and clear her head. She wanted to lash out, ruin everything as it had been done to her, yet she couldn't bring herself to. As furious as she was, a part of her could comprehend her mothers judgment. Before a tear could fall, the younger witch turned around, running out of the room and up to her own. Shutting the door behind her, locking it up and sat curled up in a corner, soon her shoulders shook as the tears fell down her cheeks. So many moments of her childhood had been ruined by just a few choice her mother made, in her mind it have be such an easy fix. But she didn't care about societies laws about nobility or any of it, if anything she despised it for making this life a living hell. It was partly her mothers fault, but mainly the laws that made it basically impossible to get away after what had been done. These moments only made Helena more bitter to the world, if it all ended now she wouldn't have cared, this era couldn't end fast enough.
After Helena left, Alexandria took a seat back on the couch, hunched over lacing her fingers. Having mixed feeling about this whole thing, she hated the fact she had to yell at her daughter, but still had her own anger towards the teen after what was said. Yet she knew this was entirely her own fault, wanting some comfort of her own, but knew she didn't deserve it either. Feeling Rocco get up she expected him to leave, it was understandable even if it hurt. As the footsteps left the room, she brought her hands up to cover her features, with her own tears falling, but unlike her daughter she hid them well. That last thing she wanted was to guilt her husband into staying because she couldn't control her emotions, lately it had become harder and harder with her current situation. This whole mess was bound to come sooner or later, yet if she'd waited this only would have come out worse. Now it was only a matter of time before her parents found out about this, having to explain once more why she made such reckless choices. She'd have to write the whole thing down, knowing she couldn't do this again without breaking down. It was the best thing she could do, perhaps after reading it they'd ask less questions or have a better understanding? The witch could hope for the best, for the moment thats all she had.
