Melanie:

Tossing the dirty rag in the washing machine, I sighed out of tiredness as I walked into the kitchen to grab myself a bottle of water and possibly something to eat if dinner was ready.

"Hungry Melanie?" Leilani's voice inched closer to me

"Yeah," I said lowly

"I haven't decided what to fix for dinner. Any ideas?"

"Shrimp Alfredo sounds good," I shrugged nonchalantly

Inside I was giddy as fuck. Her shrimp Alfredo is actually heaven.

"Yeah, I could go for that, but only if you help me make it."

"I can do that," I smiled slightly as I watched her begin writing a list of all of the ingredients we were going to need

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I blurted out randomly

"What do you mean? I genuinely love you Melanie, even when you're a brat."

I didn't know how to respond to that. I've been so mean and ungrateful, I don't deserve this kind of compassion.

"I'm gonna go get Destin so he can come grocery shopping with us," I changed the topic of the conversation

"Okay, but before you do that, go in my room and grab the little book that's sitting on my nightstand."

I just nodded my head before grabbing it and then going upstairs to get Destin.

Curiosity got the best of me so I opened up the first page of the book. It ended up being more of a scrapbook of my childhood photos. I wanted to continue flipping through the pages of all of these happy times but Leilani was calling me to come on so we could go to the grocery store.

I miss all of those happy times and I can't imagine myself ever being able to reach that level of joy ever again since so much has happened.

I feel like I'm more of burden these days.

Evelyn:

"I swear Evelyn, you're such a great friend," North groaned as spit into the toilet one last time

"Thanks," I said unamused as I let go of her hair

She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand before pulling me into an unwanted hug.

I cringed in disgust as I wiggled my way out of her grasp. After gong to her dads concert last night, we decided to hang out with Kylie and North and Quentin ended up getting wasted. This is now the aftermath and it has me feeling indifferent about both of them. North is just slowly getting on my nerves with her druggy ways and Quentin is finding new ways to surprise me. And not in a good way. I would've never imagined him to be the type to pop pills or drink. Yet, he does both.

Grandma Sandi told me that this should never be the type of company I keep. I need to find better friends.

After about 30 more minutes more of putting up with North's shit as well as getting my things together I pulled out my phone to call Miles. Hopefully he can pick me up from this place.

"Sup Evelyn?" King asked as he walked down the stairs

"Um, since when have you been here?"

"A few hours, I came to say what's up to Kylie and Bash since I didn't come to the concert last night."

Their relationship is.... quite weird. She broke up with his dad years ago but for some reason she still talks to King like its nothing. I'm not gonna question it though because I might find something out that I didn't need to know.

Minutes later Sebastian came out of the kitchen with a pop tart in his mouth. He smiled to the best of his ability before passing by me in order to put on his shoes, which were sitting by the door.

"Do you need a ride Evelyn? I know you rode with Quentin but he's not really able to drive right now," he chuckled lowly

"You live kind of far from my house, are you sure?"

"Yeah," he nodded his head, "C'mon."

Moments later we were off down the road, headed to my house. There was silence surrounding us but it wasn't necessarily awkward just unsettling for some reason.

"Pop tart?" He asked randomly as he handed me the small silver bag

"Thanks."

"So aren't you concerned about leaving Quentin and North alone?"

"Um, why would I be?"

He just shrugged his shoulders, "They used to date."

"In like middle school," I smacked my lips, "I trust both of them. Why are you so concerned?"

"I just hate to see you be so naive, I know how nigga's are."

"Shut up Sebastian," I mumbled as I directed my gaze out of the passenger side window

_______________

Drake-

Rinsing off my plate that once held a delicious lunch, I stuck it into the dishwasher moments later. The next thing on my daddy duties list was to get miss Riley ready for her dance lessons. I snuck up on her as she watched Spongebob in the living room and carried her up to her bathroom as she kicked and squealed in my arms.

"Daddy I don't wanna take a bath," she pouted

"Why not? You'd rather be stinking like a pig?"

"No! I wanna take a shower."

"Fine," I sighed as I turned it on for her, "Get undressed and get in there, I'm giving you 10 minutes or no ice cream stop tomorrow."

"K daddy now get out!" She pushed me towards the door

I shook my head in amusement as I decided to take a seat on her panda bear bean bag chair. I pulled my phone out to check my messages, French invited me to King of Diamonds next weekend to celebrate his birthday. If this was 10 years ago I'd be on that. But now it just doesn't seem appealing to me.

My enjoyment comes from what's right here at home. Seeing all of my kids growing up and developing their personalities, making my beautiful wife smile. It's all satisfying, I wish I would've realized this earlier. Things might would've been better.

About 15 minutes later, Riley came out of the bathroom, soaking wet with her clothes on. I could help but to chuckle as I walked into her bathroom so I could turn the running water off. I then went in a cabinet and grabbed another towel for her.

Her brown curls were dripping so I unfolded the blue striped towel and wrapped it around her head.

"Thanks daddy," she giggled, "Can we get ice cream now?"

"We'll get some after your dance class, go get your shoes on and grab your bag then meet me downstairs."

"K!" She ran off into her closet

While she did that I made my way back downstairs. Leilani, Destin, and Mel were just walking back in, carrying a load of groceries in their hands.

"Let me get that for you babe," I grabbed the few bag from Leilani

"Thanks," she sighed as she made her way into the kitchen
