I knock on the door of the room I know he would be in.
''Come In", his deep voice calls out from the other side.

Entering inside, the first thing I notice is how handsome he looks. His black eyes appears even more pronounced in his fitted black suit.

Realising that I might have been staring at him for a while, I quickly snap my gaze back to his face ... only to see him fidgeting nervously.

"Uh, are you getting cold feet now? There is still some time left for the wedding. You can elope with me to Los Angeles.", I joke nudging his elbow lightly.

"Never", he replies promptly with a chuckle.
"I want her in my life ... as my wife", he further elaborates.

I nod softly looking away from him as a sudden pain envelops me at his direct confession. I can't bring myself to look into his eyes that are filled with so much adoration for her.

"You know I am so lucky to have her in my life . She is so good.", he drawls out smilingly as if reminiscing a memory ... unaware of my heart that continues to break even further.

I wanted to ask if I am not good but refrain myself from doing so.

"Hey Daniel!... There you are, its time for the wedding man.", his best man announces poking his head inside the room. He then proceeds to check me out,  quirking his eyebrow as his eyes moves back and froth between us, his face lit in confusion.

"Coming! Just give us a minute.", Dan replies disregarding the confusion etched on the man's face.

As soon as the door closes behind, Dan pulls me in a tight embrace making my heart stop as his familiar masculine scent envelops me.

"I don't know what I would have done without you. Thank you so much for coming Kate.", he murmurs into my ear ... his warm breath falling on my neck causing my senses to go haywire. I wanted nothing more than time to freeze at this moment as I stand here, wrapped in his arms.

"It wouldn't have changed anything. You still would have married no matter I came or not.", I thought painfully.

"Do I mean that much to you?", I ask instead ... pulling out of his embrace and I instantly miss his touch.

"Yeah, you mean a lot to me Kate.", he answers ... planting a chaste kiss on my forehead and with this he leaves the room.

"But not as much as she means to you Dan ... not as much.", I whisper softly as a lone tear trickles down my face.

Damn these tears, they always betray me.
"I won't cry ... I won't cry", I chant repeatedly to myself wiping down the tears that have eascaped my eyes.
