Chapter Twenty-Seven: Initiation
Sky:

Abel left the room once more and I took this as my opportunity to strike. This was the highlight of the plan, the turning point. His phone was sitting there on the night stand, practically screaming at me to take it.

I jumped up from the bed, quickly grabbed the phone then sat back down on the bed. I looked at the lock screen to check if it was his then shoved into my bra. I heard footsteps approaching the room and lay back on the bed again. It turned out to be Abel again, but he was still alone. He passed me the bottle of Bacardi and told me to drink up. I grabbed the bottle from his hand and did exactly that. I knew what part was coming next.

As soon as the drink hit the back of my throat, I gagged. Running straight to the bathroom, I puked up most of the night's contents, even though there was barely any alcohol in my system. It was all about believability and judging by how stupid Abel's been so far this past night it was going to work. As I carried on vomiting I heard other voices come into the bathroom, just like I'd planned.

A deep male voice started speaking first, "Yo, I know there usually drugged up but you had to pick a fucking lightweight, nigga?"

"I aint know she couldn't handle her drugs. The way she was going hard at the club made me think otherwise," they said as if I wasn't still vomiting. A few minutes passed and I could tell they were still standing there so I pretended to pass out. I heard them start up again.

"So what the fuck do we do with her?" One asked, a new voice.

"I say we leave her on the couch until she wakes up and go the fuck out again. It's only 1am." Abel says. He sounds different to how Amara described him; she made him sound heartless.

All of a sudden, I feel a pair of hard muscly arms pick me up from my position on the floor and I fight to keep my face straight. The couch that he set me down on feels soft and I almost fall asleep but I remind myself of what I have to do. Once the door shuts and I am absolutely positive everybody has left, I get up. The cold metal of Abel's phone slides out from under my bra as I hold it in one hand.

Turning the key in the door, I call a cab from his place. I don't want to risk getting caught so I make my way out of the apartment block and wait for the cab to arrive. I sit on the cold curb and in less than five minutes, the taxi comes.

I stand up and dust myself off then step into the car. The driver asks where I'm going and I give him the address to Amara's place at the strip club.

My hand shakily knocks on the dressing room door three times. There's some shuffling around in the room until Amara finally opens the door, dressed in what she's about to go on stage in. Her bright shell-pink wig contrasts against her lingerie. I don't know why she insists on wearing the wig in the first place.

"You got what I asked for?" She says, breaking me out of my thoughts.

Without saying anything I start to pull the phone out of my bra but Amara stops me.

"Not here, are you crazy?" She whisper-shouts at me. "Meet back here 10 minutes after I go on stage then give it to me. Can't trust anybody snooping my dressing room can we?" She asks with a evil smile played across her features.

Abel:After everything went to shit with Sky, I found myself walking

Abel:
After everything went to shit with Sky, I found myself walking. The last time I checked the time was around 2am and that was when I hit up Mila, but I ain't get no reply. Either way, I was determined.

I ended up at Di's house out here in Montreal.  For some reason I couldn't stop seeing her, she interested me and u had to know more.

So I rang the door bell on the door to the house. And waited. And after about five I heard the door open. But when it did, I had to look down at the person who answered as they were about two feet tall. Her daughter?

"Hi there," I say as I squat down to get to her level, "what's your name?"

She looks about nine and is tired as hell, she's still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she replies. "I'm Sophia." Sophia's face stretches out into a gapped smile.

I was right. Her daughter.

Just then, Diana comes from somewhere else in the house and picks her up. Sophia wraps her legs around her Mom's waist and nestles her head into Di's neck. Seeing this image only brings back thoughts of what could have been. With Zaria. Seeing this image reminds me of why I was even in Montreal in the first place.

"Baby," Diana scolds," what are you doing out of bed so late? And what did I tell you about opening the door to strangers?" She says but Sophia's already halfway asleep. Di rolls her eyes as she opens the door wider to let me in, then quickly goes upstairs, to put Sophia back to sleep I'm guessing.

When she comes back, we walk into the living. It's exactly how I'd imagine someone like her living. It's spacious and decorated completely black and white, even the carpet is black.

"What are you doing here, Abel?" She asks.

"That's a nice way to say hello," I reply.

"It's almost 3 am. I'm watching my kid."

"Where's ya man?"

"Why's that your concern?"

Answering questions with questions. Deflection.

"Does this have anything to do with that agreement you told me about?"

"Maybe it does. He's out there doing whatever he wants and it's cool, as long as he comes back to me." She says, running a hand through her braids and standing up a little straighter. She's dressed only in a silk pyjama top and shorts, which are basically see through. Her shorts keep riding up as she speaks, exposing more and more of her leg.

"That's crazy."

"Abel, it works. Besides you don't seem to have too much of a problem with it."

I disregarded all of the thoughts running through my head and stepped closer to her, closing the space. I kissed her and she kissed me back.

She was right. In fact I got more than what I wanted out of it. I got Di. I just didn't know how dangerous having Di could be.
